PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR IPAS SISWA SDN 105316 BERANTI

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on elementary school students’ learning outcomes in IPAS. The study employed a quasi-experimental method using a nonequivalent control group design. The population of the study consisted of all fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 105316 Beranti. The research sample comprised two classes: an experimental class with 27 students taught using the PBL model and a control class with 28 students taught using conventional learning methods. Data were collected through pretest and posttest instruments that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that the average pretest score of class VA was 47.85 and that of class VB was 46.29, indicating that the students’ initial abilities were relatively similar. Subsequently, class VA was designated as the control class, while class VB served as the experimental class. After the treatment, the average posttest score of the experimental class increased to 74.07, whereas the control class reached an average score of 62.85. The results of the t-test indicated that the calculated t-value (2.910) was greater than the t-table value (2.005) at a significance level of 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the PBL model has a significant effect on students’ IPAS learning outcomes.
